Ayurveda is the ancient Vedic "science of life" which dates back over 5,000 years. For Ayurveda the mind is the reflection of the body, the storehouse of all the impressions we perceive through the senses.
The body is a mental organism, it is the means of perception aimed at supporting the functions of the senses and facilitating experience through the mind. One of the great wonders of Ayurveda is that it helps us understand all individual differences, talents and aversions very clearly. There are three main constitutional types according to the 3 biological moods that are the basic force of physical life.


Vata, Pitta and Kapha correspond to the 5 major elements of air, fire, ether, earth and water that act within the mind-body complex.
Ayurvedic massage and internal and external treatments help eliminate toxins through purification, they improve the immune system, strengthen muscle tone and joints, relaxing and rejuvenating the body. The senses are cleaned up, improving the perception of what is happening around us.
The massage is personalized according to the dystonia of Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Touching, kneading, clutches are used, the use of oils with medicinal herbs distinguishes it, the intensity and strength in the massage depend on the need of the individual.

Pindasweda in Indian culture literally means "helping the body to sweat", it involves applying herbal boluses for massage.

The herbs contained in the ball (also called bolus) release their active ingredients. Small bags of natural material such as cotton are rigorously handmade, composed of medicinal herbs that are shredded and dried, sometimes associated with spices and hot rice, rich in starch and healthy for the body.

The beneficial effects of Pindasweda massage:

• It promotes the elimination of toxins and cleanses the body. All forms of impurities in the skin are thus eliminated leaving a smooth and velvety, well toned and even luminescent epidermis.

• In cases of muscle contractures and fatigue, it is recommended as an ideal remedy for those who practice intense physical activity, even at a competitive level.
• All joint pains are alleviated by the action of boiling oil, since the heat loosens the muscles, relaxes the area and performs a decisive analgesic function on the body, inducing an increase in the pain threshold.
• It acts not only on a physical level, but also on the energetic and psychic level, awakening dormant energies, increasing vitality and contributing to mental balance.
• Effective for removing forms of fatigue, tension and insomnia problems. The treatment, based on hot poultices, is very useful in case of cold, cough, rheumatoid arthritis, bronchial asthma.
The pindasweda massage technique begins with a massage lasting about 20 minutes with medicated oil, in order to loosen the muscles and relax the body to its maximum. Subsequently, the use of herbal boluses begins, with tapping, rotating movements, or simply by placing the bolus in some specific areas, thus letting the heat radiate into the affected area, propagating its beneficial action.

Contraindications of Pindasweda

The use of Pindasweda is not recommended in case of:
pregnant women, ulcers, diarrhea, digestive disorders, chest trauma, asthma, eye diseases, severe intoxication states.
